JUMA SULTAN: Transported Back 40 Years

Producer, musician (Jimi Hendrix), archivist (Studio We, NYMO) and 70s loft organizer, Juma Sultan listens back to recordings from the Studio We Archives, mastered by Raz Mesinai.

Over a decade ago, I had the honor of working on restoring and mastering recordings from the legendary Studio We Archive, meticulously archived by legendary multi-instrumentalist and organizer, Juma Sultan (Aboriginal Music Society, Jimi Hendrix).

In this clip, Juma listens back to a mastered recording of a quartet featuring himself on bass, Sonny Simmons on saxophone, Barbara Donald on trumpet, and Paul Smith on drums.
