FIELD RECORDINGS
Environmental Studies & Randomized Sound
A dedicated study in critical listening, environmental DNA, and the unscripted improvisation of the living world.
The Art of Field Recording: Perspective & Placement
A field recorder functions much like a camera: even when standing in the same location, every observer will produce a different result. The distinction lies in the understanding of focus, placement, and calibration, alongside a refined appreciation for the medium of sound itself.
In the field, you are neither the composer nor the conductor. You are a researcher listening for the inherent rhythm within the cacophony. Through this practice, you discover the relationship between your own internal timing and the external world.
